In May, I attended an Instameet at Traders Point Creamery, which is located in Zionsville, Indiana. Traders Point, which I had never before visited, is a family-owned artisan creamery and the first certified organic dairy farm in Indiana. Their Brown Swiss cows are one hundred percent grass-fed. Furthermore, Traders Point focuses on transparency--visitors are able to see what animals produced their food, and can see the pastures upon which the animals themselves feed. In addition, the farm is "committed to using no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, antibiotics, or growth hormones."
Traders Point offers various tours, and also boasts spaces for special events. You can dine in their on-site farm-to-table restaurant, sample a milkshake from the Dairy Bar, or, during the summer, visit the farmers market on Friday nights. As I recently acquired a gift certificate to Traders Point, I have the nagging sensation that I will return soon--perhaps this weekend, with Ty in tow. My guess is that we'll end up with fresh cheese. And probably a milkshake. And also more cheese.

Have you ever attended an Instameet?
This looks so fun! I haven't been to a farm in forever. Right now i think is usually the time we go strawberry picking?

ReplyDeleteThank you! I know I still need lots of practice, but I'd like to try and photograph the "feeling" of a place or day.
DeleteLooks like it was an awesomely fine day my friend. Beautiful photos!! I have never attended an Instameet but I am intrigued!
ReplyDeleteThis place looks beautiful and these meets always look so fun! One day i'll make it to one. Eventually. Though I do worry about whether or not I would fit in with the people who attend these events.
